20.10.10 (RW). 14 Pink-footed Goose, 3 Eurasian Marsh Harrier, 2 Common Kestrel, 1 Stonechat MDM, 120 Fieldfare, 1 Great Grey Shrike MM.

20.10.10 (BPW). 11 Whooper Swan F, 1 Common Kingfisher TWD.

19.10.10 (PH, BS). 300 Pink-footed Goose, 70 Greylag Goose, 25 Eurasian Teal, 150 Mallard, 1 Eurasian Marsh Harrier cc, 1 Common Kestrel, 1 Merlin fm, F, 3 Common Pheasant, 200 Black-headed Gull, 20 Common Wood Pigeon, 1 Green Woodpecker, 8 Sky Lark, 4 Meadow Pipit, 1 Winter Wren, 1 European Robin, 1 Common Blackbird, 19 Fieldfare, 6 Long-tailed Tit, 1 Willow Tit, 1 Blue Tit, 1 Great Grey Shrike MM, 1 Black-billed Magpie, 1 Carrion Crow, 1 Chaffinch, 30 European Goldfinch, 1 Common Bullfinch, 6 Reed Bunting. Also Fox.

18.10.10 (BPW). 1 Hen Harrier male F nr P, 2 Stonechat m & fm FR N at SOMT, 50 Fieldfare F, 20 Redwing F, 14 Long-tailed Tit GB, 8 Blue Tit GB, 4 Eurasian Siskin GB, 18 Lesser Redpoll GB.

300 Pink-footed Geese, 200 Greylag, 30 Teal, 1 Peregrine, 1 fm Marsh Harrier, 2 Common Buzzard, 8 Whooper Swan took off from the flood workings near Will Pits wood and headed E over Crowle Moor. 2 Great Tits, 1 Great Grey Shrike high in the trees along the path between the viewing platform and the Natural England shed (MT), 8 Robins, 30 Mallards, 3 Greater Black-backed Gulls, 1 Mistle Thrush, 1 Chiffchaff, many Sky Lark and Reed Buntings flying along the paths (all around flooded workings and WP area), 10 Grey Partridge (Colliery area).

Also possibly the eagle with a smaller Marsh Harrier hunting 500m away, circling high over Fison's Road north near Creyke's.

15.10.10 (JH). 1 Great Grey Shrike in the trees along the MT.

15.10.10 (BPW). 18 Fieldfare over Creykes, 2 Redwing with them, many Sky Lark moving.

14.10.10 (RW) Pink-footed Geese - late morning NW moors 700 left NW in three skeins + 600 at rest Flooded workings. Mid afternoon 500 in two skeins across moors. 1 Peregrine S across moors, 1 Merlin flooded workings, 2 cc Marsh Harriers, 5 Snipe, Also small numbers Lesser Redpoll.

11.10.10 (via JJ). EAGLE sp. FLEW FROM W, DWARFING AN ACCOMPANYING BUZZARD, LANDED ON GOOLE FIELDS 14.00, NOT SEEN SINCE.

11.10.10 (BPW). 2 Barn Swallow.

09.10.10 (CH) 500 Greylag, 2 Marsh Harrier WP area, 30 redwing along Fisons’ Road 20 redpoll along FR, 1 Kestrel over GB. 8 stags (all over WP) and group of 10+ hinds in fields adjacent to WP. 1 stag has no tines and just 2 long antlers = dangerous fellow!

09.10.10 (WHP). 1000 Pink-footed Goose, 400 Greylag Goose, 4 Barnacle Goose down on F with Pinks before flying E (WHP), 1 Dunlin, 1 Common Greenshank, 1 Barn Swallow, 100 Redwing, 3 Common Chiffchaff, 120 Lesser Redpoll.

08.10.10 (RW). 100 Pink-footed Geese arrived noon from south landed flooded workings N of Fisons Rd. left NE at 1.10pm. 80 arrived from N at 2.15pm circled moors and landed NW moors. 2.20pm 40 arrived from N circled but did not land left to NE. 2 Marsh Harrier (m.+ cc.), 1 Kestrel, 1 Greenshank, 4 Golden Plover, 1 Snipe, Roaring Stag - Will Pits. Also Yellowhammers Bullfinch Willow tits.

02.10.10 (WHP). 1000 Pink-footed Goose, 550 Greylag Goose, 4 Eurasian Marsh Harrier, 2 Peregrine Falcon m and fm, 20 Northern Lapwing F, 4 Dunlin, 4 Ruff, 55 Sky Lark, 10 Common Chiffchaff WP mainly, 2 Coal Tit, 1 Brambling, 4 Eurasian Siskin.

02.10.10 (CH). 1000 Greylag Goose prob more inc. white birds, 2 Eurasian Marsh Harrier, 20 Northern Lapwing F, 4 Carrion Crow.
