Waders are best viewed from the limestone road that runs E-W from Green Belt to Will Pits wood. They are usually at the back of the large pools N of the road, so while viewing from road a scope is recommended. It is possible to get around the far side by walking towards Will Pits and when opposite the S turning along Middle Moor Tram, instead go N (past the mound of granite road chips) towards some peat mounds overgrown with bracken. The pools on the right (E) are also good for waders. Once past the mounds turn left (W) and view from here. It is very overgrown however, and viewing from the top of the last mound is better (there is a track cut in the bracken at the back). Marsh Harriers are often to the N, and Hobby is best seen over N side of Will Pits wood (which is E), also looking E, the Peregrine haunts the W side of the wood and you know its hunting when the Lapwings etc get up.
