This reserve protects Alta Bacia do Rio Guapiaçu (upper river basin of Rio Guapiaçu) in the Serra do Mar mountains in Rio de Janeiro state ne of Rio city, close to Tres Picos State Park. There is a place to stay given on the website and volunteers are also welcome.
