By car from Curitiba, take BR116 towards São Paulo till Graciosa Road at KM60. On reaching the city of Antonina, take PR440 towards Cacatu then the PR405 to Guaraqueçaba. There are other routes along the coast. Buses leave daily from Curitiba to Guaraqueçaba, but there is then a 4.5km hike to the reserve. The reserve is open Tuesday to Sunday 08.30 to 17.30, entrance fee is R$5 and camping has to be done by reservation, costing R$5 per person per night. Facilities are good there being a campsite with barbecue pits and also a cafe and visitor centre. There are also a research centre and training facility. All facilities are spread out along the main road which follows the river, with research centre and training facility on a side loop. Birding can be done along the road or any of the well marked trails.
