Birding Site Guide

This site was visited principally for one species Rock Partridge, which while scarce is not too hard to find here. From the town of Burgh dé Oisans we headed to the hills of St. Christophe and birded up into the mountains.

The site for the Partridge was at St. Christophe in the Massif Des Encrins, south-east of Grenoble off the N91. We stayed in the small town of Burgh dé Oisans, the turn-off for St. Christophe lies on the south side off the N91, 5km s.east of Burgh dé Oisans, it is then 14km along this road to St. Christophe. Hotel was around 80 francs and there was a range of places to stay.
We had Snow Finch at the ski-lift in L'Alpe-d Huez, 15km north-east of Burgh dé Oisans.
