Birding Site Guide

This is another good area which can be birded in a day trip from Kathmandu. Unfortunately unless you have arranged a taxi return pick-up you could be stuck for getting back in the evening, as the buses are full to overflowing and there are no taxis about. Birding here can turn up some species you may not get elsewhere, but some of the places that looked good to bird were simply inaccessible (along the gorge) and the temple held few birds. The pools were dry when we were there but we birded around the footbridge and river. The best species here was Upland Buzzard, and we also saw Bar-headed Geese.
