Isalo National Park lies along National Route 7, SW Madagascar and is an area of geologically odd sandy rock formations with Palm Savannah. Benson’s Rock Thrush can be easily found around the chalets. In total 82 bird species have been recorded.

Mammals: 14 species. Ring-tailed Lemur Lemur catta, Verreaux's Sifaka Propithecus verreauxi, Red-fronted Lemur Eulemur rufifrons, Gray Mouse Lemur Microcebus murinus, Coquerel's Giant Mouse Lemur Mirza coquereli, Red-tailed Sportive Lemur Lepilemur ruficaudatus.

Herptiles: there are 33 species of reptiles including Dumeril’s Boa Acrantophis dumeriliand 15 species of frogs including the Malagasy Rainbow Frog Scaphiophryne gottlebei.
Plants: Vontaka Pachypodium rosulatum, Aloe Aloe isaloensis and Satrana Bismarkia nobilis.
