Zombitse forest, is in SW of Madagascar, en route to Isalo heading inland on National Route 7 from Tulear. The park is split into 3 sections: the Zombitse 16,845 ha, the Vohimena Isoky 3,293 ha and Vohibasia 16,170 ha. This is a transition forest offering a range of species from 2 biomes (western forest and dry xeric scrub) and 47% of Madagascar’s endemic birds but is mostly dry forest known especially for Appert’s (Greenbul) Tetraka (known from only two forest patches both in this area) Coquerel’s Coua and Madagascar Ibis.
Other possibilities include Madagascar Sandgrouse, Madagascar Partridge, Giant Coua, Olive-capped Coua, Lesser Vasa Parrot, Madagascar Hoopoe, Thamnornis Warbler, Common Newtonia, Common Jery, Long-billed Green Sunbird, Souimanga Sunbird and Sakalava Weaver.
