Birding Site Guide

On 21st February’09, I did an ornithological trip to Trent Park (Country Park) at Cockfosters where I met a group of 10-12 birders from London Natural History Society (LNHS). This park is just 5 minutes walk from Cockfosters Tube Station (Piccadilly Line). Once you are at the tube station you will turn right, as you walk along the Cockfosters Road you will pass the Cemetery, once you passed the Cemetery, you will see a big gate writing Trent Park (Country Park) and this is where you entre. This park is quite a large area with ponds, open grassland and woodland. This ornithology trip was lead by Pete Lambert from LNHS who guided us.

We had recorded about 27 different species of birds. Below is a complete list of bird species that we recorded at the Trent Park (Country Park).

1. Cormorant 2. Mandarin Duck 3. Mallard 4. Tufted Duck 5. Common Buzzard 6. Moorhen 7. Coot 8. Black-headed Gull 9. Stock Dove 10. Woodpigeon 11. Great Spotted Woodpecker 12. Robin 13.
