Bonkro Village is not far from Assin Foso.



This village is renowned for being the best tourist site for the rarer of the two species of Picathartes; White-necked Rockfowl Picathartes gymnocephalus Vulnerable (photo). Also found are Speckled Tinkerbird Pogoniulus scolopaceus, Yellow-rumped Tinkerbird Pogoniulus bilineatus, Gray Greenbul Eurillas gracilis, Plain Greenbul Eurillas curvirostris, Little Greenbul Eurillas virens, Icterine Greenbul Phyllastrephus icterinus, Common Bulbul Pycnonotus barbatus, Green-headed Sunbird Cyanomitra verticalis.
